These terms cover the Dictus app, the Dictus Pro subscription, and the getdictus.com website.
By downloading, installing, or using Dictus, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Acceptance of Terms
These terms form an agreement between you and PIVI Solutions, the publisher of Dictus. They apply to your use of the Dictus app and related services. We may update them; continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance.
Service Description
Dictus is a voice dictation keyboard that transcribes your voice into text entirely on your device, with no internet connection. Voice transcription, fully on-device privacy, and third-party keyboard functionality are provided free of charge. Certain advanced features are offered through the paid Dictus Pro subscription.
License and Acceptable Use
Dictus is granted to you under a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for use consistent with its intended purpose. The app’s code is open source and governed by its public license available on GitHub. You agree not to use the app for any unlawful purpose or in a way that infringes the rights of others.
Dictus Pro Subscription
Dictus Pro is an auto-renewable subscription offered in two plans: monthly (€4.99) and yearly (€39.99, with a 7-day free trial). Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase. The subscription automatically renews for the same period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal at any time in your Apple ID account settings after purchase. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; the period already paid for is not refunded.
Free Trial
The Dictus Pro subscription may include a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the paid subscription starts automatically and your Apple ID account is charged. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a paid subscription.
Payments and Refunds
All payments and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. Refund requests are subject to Apple’s App Store terms and handled directly by Apple; PIVI Solutions has no access to your payment information and cannot process refunds directly.
Personal Data
Dictus collects no personal data and processes your voice entirely on your device. Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
Intellectual Property
The “Dictus” name, logo, and brand elements belong to PIVI Solutions. The app’s source code is released as open source under its respective license; rights to the code are governed by that license. No trademark rights are granted beyond what the law permits.
No Warranty
Dictus is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that transcription will be error-free or that the app will operate without interruption. Speech-recognition accuracy depends on many factors, including your device and usage conditions.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, PIVI Solutions shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, Dictus. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in that case, they apply to the extent permitted by law.
Termination
You may stop using Dictus and uninstall the app at any time. We may suspend or discontinue access to the service or to certain features in the event of a breach of these terms or for technical or legal reasons.
Changes to These Terms
We may modify these terms. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the app after posting constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to the protective provisions applicable to consumers in their country of residence.
